# Prototo > Prototo is a prompt-native design environment for iPhone. Designers describe screens in plain language to Claude Code, and real native iOS layouts appear in the iOS Simulator and on a physical iPhone running the Prototo app. There is no canvas, no IDE, and no engineering concepts. Building prototypes locally is free and unlimited; paid plans cover sharing them as live, native previews in the browser. ## Key pages - [Home](https://prototo.app): What Prototo is, how it works, and how to get started. - [Pricing](https://prototo.app/pricing): Free local prototyping, Plus (monthly or annual) for sharing, and a Teams plan coming soon. - [Release notes](https://prototo.app/changelog): Recent features, improvements, and fixes for the CLI and iPhone client. - [Support](https://prototo.app/support): Help, bug reports, feedback, and the roadmap. ## Getting started - Requirements: macOS with Node.js 18 or newer, Xcode (free, for the iOS Simulator), and Claude Code. - Scaffold a project: `npm create proto@latest myapp` - First running prototype in the iOS Simulator: under 90 seconds. ## Policies - [Privacy](https://prototo.app/privacy): What Prototo collects and does not collect. - [Terms](https://prototo.app/terms): Terms for accounts and share links.
